Whilst there were a few stressful times throughout 2016, on the grand scheme of things, 2016 turned out pretty okay in the end for me but I’ve decided to things a little different this year in regards to my what happened in 2016 posts.
I did start doing my top tens last year but then Christmas came and I decided to give myself some time off and chill out over the festive season whilst reviewing over things to make plans for this year. My list is already very long, especially creative wise. But one of my goals is definitely to blog more and get into a regular blogging schedule. I’ve been blogging on and off since 2009 and to be honest I do love it. I’m always a little worried about my blog having too many topics, that is until I decided to look at my top ten posts of last year and saw that actually, they covered a wide range of topics, proving that’s it’s always good to write about want you want, rather than writing about what you think people want to read. Your audience will find you.
I also started writing about other topics such as style and more opinion led pieces and they did pretty also did pretty well, so that’s definitely encouraged me to keep on stepping outside my boundaries and writing stuff like that.
So here are my top ten posts from last year, the first three (and the top three) outfit posts. Although I didn’t post as many outfit as I’d have liked to next year I plan on posting a lot more!
This is actually one of my favourite tops made for one metre of fabric and pattern hack.
//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js I love this pattern and it was a lot easier to make than I thought it would be and will definitely be making this one again and next time with the proper neckline.
As with the above outfits, I wore this at VLV19, I wish I could take all my outfit posts in Las Vegas, the sun and vibes bring out the total poser in me. I wore this dress to the car show.
For Halloween I did a small series on my favourite horror movies, turns out you guys are pretty hot for vampires!
Well goes without saying really who doesn’t love stationery?
Took another visit to the Neon Museum which is one of my favourite museums.
I used to blog about music suff on my other blog but since streamlining I decided to start including books and music on this blog as well and it seems you guys don’t mind.
Turns out a lot of my top posts were holiday related, my vintage and repro accessory haul from our trip to the US.
There might be a few fabric haul posts coming up as I’ve been stocking p during the Black Friday and Boxing Day sales!
I haven’t really been posting many recipes but this one got a lot of love, perfect summer dish.
And as a bonus one of my favourite posts I wrote last year 10 Things To Do In San Francisco not only because it was out Honeymoon but it is now one of my favourite places in the world. Definitely need to go back and explore some more.
We even found the most Instagrammed house in the world!
So as you can see my top ten posts were quite a mixed bag of topics and I think that’s a good thing!
