Umm another lateish post, I’ve been a bit slow off the mark on this blog this year but I guess better late than never. I’m actually taking January a little slower, rather than jumping off the mark like everyone else with their goals and challenges, I still have to dust off the exercise bike, start eating a little healthier and get my projects off the ground but the run up to Christmas is my busiest time for work, so I think a little rest is okay before diving back into it. Though I have decided that this will be my most productive and creative year yet (it won’t be that hard to beat previous years), something to use as a benchmark (a term I actually hate thanks to my old job) so I know what, when I put my mind to it, I am actually able to achieve.

So I know I’ve gone on about this quite a bit now but I am yet to complete a Goodreads challenge but that stop me from trying.  I counted up how many books I’ve read since starting these challenges and it works out at about 52, mind you this does not included all the books and literature I’ve had to read for work etc over these years, this is just my personal reading list! It’s not great but it could be worse, it could be none! So as I of late I seem to be creating challenges to match or beat previous personal goals, my challenge is to read 52 books this year, that’s one a week, totally doable considering I own a lot of short books anyway. I will also be keeping track on here and on Instagram, kind of making myself accountable as such. You can join me of Goodreads here if you like.

I also want to write more this year. Writing policy, procedures and product descriptions doesn’t really count, I have loads of notebooks filled with ideas, half started stories and piles of papers in need of sorting out. This will be the year that at I finish at least one of those short stories. Maybe I’ll even have the guts to publish it somewhere. I’ll also be doing lots more blogging bu more essay style writing than the short, random posts I’ve been doing lately. I’ve been blogging on and off since 2009, it’s probably time I stopped short changing myself by worrying about what people think or being offended by what I write. So I’ll also be writing more about that.

I’ve made a few other goals which you can read here if you like, it’ll save me repeating myself which I do a lot, that and rambling. Another one is to go and see more new movies in the cinema. I’ve finally been to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, all I’ll say it was excellent but a total emotional rollercoaster. Oh and seeing as this post has been sitting is draft for about two weeks, I’ve added another goal of to finish blogs and not leave them in the draft folder for ages!!!
